this is my animatic and basically what im working from. this has all the colors i chose in sequence. i thought that it be a good idea to post this since this has the colors i want to use, and maybe you guys can help me decide on color schemes based around the colors i already have, maybe, probably:) or whatever, give me some ideas. im all ears, some of these colors do suk, so let me know which ones.

COLOR!!!
then i guess i need alot of help. i guess it is distracting to the animation so hopefully at the next meeting or even before we can chat about that cause i have no clue as to what other color scheme i could use for support since i have so many changing backgrounds. when i started thinking about color i was stumped as to how i could keep a large vareity of colors popping all over the place and still maintain some sense of unity. i guess i aint figure that out yet. so... uh... HELP!
how can i push these backgrounds back while keeping the animation dominant but i dont want things to get too dark tho. dark and muddy.

Reply to color choices
I think there does need to be some more thought behind your colors. You can still achieve your goals of bombardment or unrest but have a thought process behind the color. Like the Orange against the Blue does that. A few reasons I'm pushing this is I think right now the current colors in majority are taking away from your animation also I think its making conflict in allowing the entire piece flow. Even though we all have a part in the end we gotta make the whole thing flow. We talked about this a little in the meeting. Next meeting we're gonna put everything thats done so far together and talk about how the piece is acting as a whole.
Sorry to be pushing this color thing here but I really wanna see it become as strong as it possibly can be. I'll post some more about what mean in color theories tomorrow, but right now I gots to get me some sleeps. ^_^ I need to get me some of that coffee your drinking, Hasan.

COLOR CHOICES
its not any real rhyme or reason behind the colors im choosing. i just jeep plugging em in till i get something i like. Mikes want my values to make some sort of sense but the only sense i want them to make is to be as abnoxious as possible. since my part is all about different elements and the impact they make when they slam against something, the backgrounds are sort of just there. not too intergrated with the elements but sort of in a way. i know i should be following some color scheme and unifying my values and thing that go back in space should get darker and all this and that. but im not working with space. its looks like there may be sometimes but it all boils down to something just banging around on a pretty background. some of the colors i chose are from things i see everyday. one is the color of my underwear, another is a friends blanket, the one with the red and blue are the philadelphia 76ers colors, the one with the ball splashing into the water reminds me of a winery with purple grapes and green vines. see, the colors are coming from somewhere but im not too focused on why they are there. i want the audience to be bombarded with so many colors that your eyes have no opportunity rest while all these things are banging around.
sorry i gave you the long version, ive just been waiting for someone to ask me that question and i just drank a gallon of coffee. i think your part is looking fucking crazy. keep it up. its looks like a paint on glass. tell ms. introducingemy! to post her stuff so i can see it . ill talk to you later, teadrinker004.

MIKE!!!
ill try to do another test for that scene where the shapes slam into each other then split and bounce on the walls. but alot of the design elements im using are supposed to be flat, sort of like in muppet babies cartoon. they used to jump in and out of paintings and different backgrounds. they would interact with the background but on a flat plane. if i were to try and bring dimension into my part, id have to rethink the entire thing. foreground middle ground and background are always good but i kind of deviated away form all that and focused more on the timing and the impact of all them elements bouncing around, the backgrounds are just keeping things colorful.

MICHELLE!
if you have vegas, which you do since i put it on your drive that day and it is fully functional, you can animate alot easier with it. if coreal can export jpegs then you got half the work done.
export your files into jpegs, fuck renaming, just stick with 00001, 00002. why even have names. go through your animatic and create sections and name those like A,B,C so when you animate a section it'll be 00001A or 00002B depending on the section.
take all them files into vegas, remember to go to preferences and change the import option, its within the editing tab. you gotta make it some weird number like 0.001 means 2frames at 24 fps. it weird but easy to do. import all your shit into vegas and there you go. good thing about vegas it that it updates as soon as you save. so if you make a change to your preexisting frames while vegas is open, itll change it as soon as you save it. so thatll be a good way to go back and fix our timing and all that. FUCK MONKEYJAM for this project. you gotta figure out a easier way cause your gonna be dealing with almost 2000 frames, naming all of them is crazy. vegas dont care about names, as long as they aint the same. and you can go in and make changes without rendering a preview. and you can make a vegas file for each section of your animation then put them together after you render them rather than having one file with all of your frames, keep em separate and put em all together when you bring it in or when you need to see the flow. if this doesnt help then i dont know what to tell you. but if you like doing billions of hours of extra work then more power to you.

YOUTUBE WORKING AGAIN!
i guess its working cause i uploaded this and it worked, volume and all. this is my skipping stones scene with ripple effects. i tried to add some splashing but it looked gay so i got rid of it. but i think this scene is a little dry and was wondering what else can go into this composition, maybe some texture on the water or something, i dont know. it just looks too empty but if yaw dont mind, i dont mind... if you know what i mean.
let me know

THE ENDING
this is supposed to be a scene of skipping stones. i was testing out the motion and im not too unhappy with it but i wanted to post it and see what anyone else had to say. the motion seems a little slow but it aint bothering me. im also gonna add splashing effects and water ripples to really give it that skipping stone effect.
if anyone thinks it sux, let me know!

didnt color it
i put these thumbnails together to show you what will be happening in the animation. a shot in your transition has those 4 balls floating to the bottom, instead of 4 make it 1 but there will be bubbles trailing behind the ball as it sinks. after the ball splashes into the water and begins to sink, your style will begin. sort of like a dissolve from my style to yours. so as the ball sinks, the background will go from my style to your painted style, maybe just start animating paint strokes and colors to fill the background as it sinks. so whatever colors you want to use, go for it cause i havent decided on colors yet and i kinda wanna work on the freefall before i choose the color of the water the ball will be landing in. but the colors you have are cool and since the transition will work as a dissolve it wont even matter if i choose to make the water hot pink, cause once the background begins to dissolve to your style, the color will change with the style change. and the deeper the ball sinks, the darker the water gets.

michelle and allison
um...michelle i didnt get a chance to do those last few scenes last night. ill try and do it before 12 pm, i woke up early as hell today for some punk ass reason so im on it! allison, i need to know what your doing at the end of yours so i can know if we can work some transition. since your still deciding what your doing you should find some way to transition into rain, or at least something falling. let me know when you got it cause if we can get 3 smooth transitions, then we are some wizards. SO PULL OUT YOU MAGIC BAG OF TRICKS AND LETS GET BUSY!!!

bubble scene, is it ok
i still didnt put in the splash that a bubble makes. every bubble that gets hit will have a sort of "pop" effect. but i just wanna know if this scene is ok. the bubbles were done in illustrator but i will be using hand drawn elements in the finished copy. and some crazy pop effects.

Concept for Part 2 to Part 3 Transition
So while working on part 3 here I came up with this concept for the Part 2 to 3 transition. Looking at Hasan's piece in the end part he ends with multiples of the ball splashing into water. I thought of taking that ball and having it skip then plunge into water; and as it sinks in the water it morphs into a bubble like shape which then follows into the rest of part 3. Just an idea but what do you think?
